In late Autumn The Friends and Volunteers were awarded amazing results from the RHS Its Your Neighbourhood judging which had taken place earlier in the year. Fletcher Moss Park was awarded Level 5 Gold as was The Parsonage Garden. The judge said of the park that “I walked around with the (very enthusiastic and knowledgeable) volunteers. I felt I was on holiday.” and of the garden “I was blown away……The borders are stunning. It is such a tranquil spot you forget you are in the middle of an urban area. A visit to the Alpine house was a real treat …..the composting area …deserves a medal on its own.”
The park was also awarded the Mayor of Trafford’s Heritage award and the Parsonage Garden Best Small Park, just one of 6 small parks in the whole of the North West. The judge was right in stating that the terrific results are down to the hard work and dedication of our many volunteers.
