Corporate Volunteers in Fletcher Moss Park

Corporate groups have been very keen to help in the park this spring. Whilst our regular team of hard working and dedicated volunteers continue to care for trees, shrubs and planted beds, the corporate volunteers, led by Moira Sykes, Volunteer, or our MCC Park Ranger, have been doing other jobs necessary to keep the park up to standard. Two groups from Autotrader (see photo), Bureau Veritas (International Health and Safety Company), Manchester University Students, a group from Trafford College and Withington Girls’ School have cleared the edges of paths of weeds and grass, cleared overgrown areas near the barn to restore pathways, painted the Visitor Centre floor, painted the railings on the upper terrace overlooking the rockery, painted picnic tables and distributed a ton of manure onto the rose beds in the pergola garden. Still to come in summer are groups organised by TVC charity which coordinates conservation volunteers and the Co-operative Bank.
